General Rules of the Competition

  The general rules that will govern the JCI Best Business Plan Competition are as follows:
  • Any legal resident of South Africa between the ages of eighteen and forty may participate in this program. Participants born before January 1, 1972, are not eligible for the Best Business Plan Competition.
  • Each contestant must submit three documents: an Entry Form, an Executive Summary and a Business Plan for the creation of a new enterprise, endeavor, or social activity to create positive change.
  • All documents must be submitted in English to be eligible for the competition.
  • All business plans must be for new start-up enterprises or businesses that has been legally registered.
  • Participants need NOT be members of JCI or any of our partner organisations.
  • The nominee may not be a current member of the Board at the International, National or Local levels. In addition paid staff members of JCI will not be considered for the program.
  • Deadline for submission of entries is the 25th February 2011.
  • Semi-finalists must be willing to present their business plan to a panel of judges on a  set date.
  • Finalist are required to attend the award ceremony
